07 December: St. John - U.S.virgin Islands

Cruz Bay is the main port on the beautiful island of St John, the smallest of the main US Virgin Islands. Much of the island became designated national parkland in the 1950s, and with such a modest population in its urban centres the entire island is much more tropical paradise than bustling tourist destination.

St. Barts is a tropical paradise with a French flair. Red rooftops cluster on deep green hillsides, and front an irresistibly blue bay. Tranquil lagoons and dozens of creamy white sand beaches vie for your attention with chic boutiques and French restaurants, and the air is filled with mingling scents of frangipani and fresh baguettes. Explore the dramatic scenery in your own ATV, cruise the coast in a speedboat, or hike to a secluded cove for a swim.

09 December: Philipsburg, St Maarten

An island with a split personality. Start your day in this laid-back Dutch capital, then cross the island to the delightful French capital, Marigot. Enjoy its chic shops, market and sidewalk cafés, before heading back for a swim at Orient Beach.

10 December: Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Head inland, where sparkling waterfalls tumble down verdant hillsides to the tune of chattering parrots. Or explore the vital eco system of the strange and twisted coastal mangrove. End the day at play on a picture-perfect beach.
